Engineering and Delivery of Customised Workshop Containers

Project Scope:

Pier was awarded a first-time scope from a new client to supply two 20 x 8FT CSC workshop containers, designed and modified to function as both a clean and dirty workshop. The project required full 3D engineering and design to ensure accuracy in structural, architectural, and electrical outfitting, facilitating seamless client approvals.

 

Project Execution

 

Dirty Workshop Container Features:

 Anti-slip chequer plate steel flooring, fully welded.

Full-height external recess area for air conditioning and electrical equipment.

 External single personnel access door.

Internal double personnel access doors within the front partition.

 External escape hatch.

 External connection recess for piping connections.

 4.8m heavy-duty workbench with drawer units and storage cabinets.

 Overhead wall-mounted storage cupboards.

 7kW air conditioning system.

 

Clean Workshop Container Features:

 Anti-slip chequer plate steel flooring, fully welded.

 Full-height external recess area for air conditioning and electrical equipment.

 Internal double personnel access doors within the front partition.

 External escape hatch.

 External access hatch for material handling.

 External connection recess for piping connections.

 Bespoke 5.5m stainless steel test bed with hinged lids and Perspex viewing screening.

 2.7m heavy-duty workbench with drawer units and storage cabinets.

 Integrated parts inspection bay with blackout curtain.

 7kW air conditioning system.

 

Safe area electrical outfitting including:

 3-phase appliance inlet power connection.

 110V and 230V wall sockets.

 Lighting, electrical distribution.

 Integrated fire detection system with smoke detection and sounder beacon.

 Insulated and lined to meet A0 fire protection standards.

 

Comprehensive Turnkey Solution

 Pier provided a complete plug-and-play solution, covering all disciplines from fabrication and non-destructive testing to painting and final outfitting. The two containerised workshops underwent full functional testing, including verification of all electrical works, prior to release.
